Lebanon, Tennessee Description
Lebanon, Tennessee is a small city located in Wilson County, about 25 miles east of Nashville. It is the county seat and has a population of around 30,000 people. The city was founded in 1801 and named after the biblical land of Lebanon due to its many cedar trees.
The city is known for its historic downtown area which features many old buildings from the 19th century. There are several restaurants, shops, and galleries to explore. The Cumberland University campus is also located downtown and provides a great place to explore the history of the area.
The city has several parks and recreational areas including Cedar Lake Park, which offers fishing, boating, swimming, and camping opportunities. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as a number of museums such as the Wilson County Museum of History and the James E. Ward Agricultural Center.
Lebanon is home to many festivals throughout the year including the Wilson County Fair in August and the Main Street Festival in October. The city also hosts an annual Christmas parade each December that draws thousands of visitors from all over Middle Tennessee.
