Lawrenceburg, Tennessee is a small city located in the south-central part of the state, about an hour and a half south of Nashville. It is the county seat of Lawrence County and has a population of around 11,000 people. The city was founded in 1817 and named after James Lawrence, a naval hero from the War of 1812.

The city is known for its historic downtown area which features many buildings from the 19th century. There are several restaurants, shops, and other businesses located in this area. The downtown area also hosts several festivals throughout the year such as the annual Mule Day Festival which celebrates the mules that were used to help build the town.

Lawrenceburg is home to several parks and recreational areas including David Crockett State Park which offers camping, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The city also has two golf courses as well as a public swimming pool.

The economy of Lawrenceburg is largely based on manufacturing with several factories located in or near the city limits. The largest employer in town is Tyson Foods which produces chicken products for distribution across the United States. Other major employers include Whirlpool Corporation and North American Lighting Incorporated.

Lawrenceburg is served by two school districts: Lawrence County Schools and Lawrenceburg City Schools. There are also several private schools located within the city limits including St Joseph Catholic School and First Baptist Christian Academy.
