Hendersonville, Tennessee is a city located in Sumner County, about 18 miles northeast of Nashville. It is the county seat and has a population of around 58,000 people. The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features many unique shops and restaurants. It also has several parks and recreational areas, including Drakes Creek Park, which offers hiking trails and picnic areas.
The city was founded in 1784 by Daniel Smith and named after William Henderson, who was an early settler in the area. The city grew rapidly during the 19th century due to its location on the Cumberland River and its proximity to Nashville. In recent years, Hendersonville has become a popular destination for tourists due to its close proximity to Nashville and other attractions such as Opryland USA theme park.
