Clarksville, Tennessee is a city located in Montgomery County, Tennessee. It is the fifth-largest city in the state and the county seat of Montgomery County. The population of Clarksville was estimated to be 149,176 in 2019.

Clarksville is situated on the banks of the Cumberland River and is home to Austin Peay State University. The city has a rich history that dates back to 1785 when it was founded by General George Rogers Clark. It was named after him and has since become an important center for commerce, industry, education, and culture in Middle Tennessee.
