Mount Pleasant is a town located in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. It is the fourth-largest municipality and largest town in South Carolina, with a population of over 80,000 people. The town is situated on the Cooper River and is bordered by Sullivan's Island to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.
Mount Pleasant is known for its historic charm and natural beauty. The town has a variety of attractions including beaches, parks, museums, and shopping centers. The Old Village Historic District features many historic homes from the 18th and 19th centuries as well as several churches. The Pitt Street Pharmacy Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its collection of antique medical equipment.
The town also boasts several parks including Memorial Waterfront Park which features a boardwalk along Shem Creek, an outdoor amphitheater, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more. Mount Pleasant also has several golf courses such as Dunes West Golf Club and Patriots Point Links Golf Course.
Mount Pleasant has a vibrant nightlife with numerous bars and restaurants offering live music and entertainment. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities with stores ranging from boutiques to big box retailers like Target and Walmart.
Mount Pleasant is home to several colleges including College of Charleston, Charleston Southern University, Trident Technical College, and The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. The town also offers plenty of recreational activities such as fishing charters, kayaking tours, boat rentals, sailing lessons, dolphin cruises, paddle boarding lessons, surfing lessons, bike rentals and more!
