James Island is a small island located in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, USA. It is situated just off the coast of Charleston and is connected to the mainland by two bridges. The island is home to approximately 12,000 people and covers an area of about 8 square miles.

The island has a rich history that dates back to 1670 when it was first settled by English colonists. There are also several art galleries showcasing local artists’ work as well as live music venues featuring both local and national acts. Shopping opportunities can be found at various boutiques throughout the island or at one of the many farmers markets held throughout the year.
