Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania is a small borough located in the northwest corner of the state. It is situated in Butler County and is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 and has a population of just over 8,000 people.
The town is known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities. Slippery Rock Creek runs through the center of town and provides a great spot for fishing, kayaking, and swimming. There are also several parks in the area that offer hiking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and more.
The town is home to Slippery Rock University which was founded in 1889 as a teacher's college. Today it offers over 100 undergraduate programs as well as master's degrees and doctoral programs.
