McKeesport is a city located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated along the Monongahela River and is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 19,731 at the 2010 census.

McKeesport was settled in 1795 and incorporated as a borough in 1842 and as a city in 1891. Its population grew steadily until the mid-20th century when it peaked in the 1940s. The city's economy was historically based on steel-making and other heavy industry, but has since diversified to include healthcare, education, retail, and service industries.

The city is home to several parks and recreational areas including Renziehausen Park, which features a lake, walking trails, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields and more. The park also hosts events such as concerts and festivals throughout the year. Other attractions include the McKeesport Little Theater which produces plays throughout the year; the Carnegie Library of McKeesport; and the Nationality Rooms at University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning which feature rooms decorated with artifacts from various countries around the world.

McKeesport is served by several major highways including Interstate 376 (the Parkway East), U.S. Route 22 (William Penn Highway), U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), Pennsylvania Route 48 (Fifth Avenue) and Pennsylvania Route 148 (McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge). Public transportation is provided by Port Authority of Allegheny County with bus routes connecting McKeesport to downtown Pittsburgh as well as other nearby communities such as Monroeville and Wilmerding.
