McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania is a borough located in Allegheny County, just 6 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. It is situated along the Ohio River and is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 6,104 at the 2010 census.
McKees Rocks has a rich history that dates back to the 1700s when it was first settled by European immigrants. The town was originally known as "Sturgeon's Rocks" after its founder, John McKee. In 1892, it was incorporated as a borough and renamed McKees Rocks.
The town has a diverse economy with many small businesses and factories that produce steel products, chemicals, and other goods. There are also several large employers in the area such as UPMC St Margaret Hospital and PPG Industries.
McKees Rocks is home to several parks and recreational areas including Riverfront Park which offers views of the Ohio River and downtown Pittsburgh skyline. The town also has several historic sites such as the Old Stone Church which was built in 1845 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
