Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania Description
Lawrenceville is a small borough located in the northwest corner of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It is situated along the banks of the Allegheny River and is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census.
Lawrenceville is known for its vibrant art scene, with numerous galleries, studios, and performance venues. The neighborhood also has a variety of restaurants and bars that offer a range of cuisines from around the world. Lawrenceville is home to several parks and green spaces, including Arsenal Park, which features a playground and walking trails.
The neighborhood has a rich history that dates back to 1794 when it was founded by William B. Foster as an industrial center for iron production. In 1834, Lawrenceville was incorporated as a borough and became an important hub for transportation with the completion of the Allegheny Valley Railroad in 1854.
