Easton, Pennsylvania is a city located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is situated along the Delaware River and is part of the Lehigh Valley region. Easton is the county seat of Northampton County and has a population of approximately 27,000 people.

Easton was founded in 1752 by Thomas Penn, son of William Penn, and was originally named "Pennsborough". The city was later renamed Easton after the Easton family who owned much of the land in the area. The city has a rich history and was an important industrial center during the 19th century. It was also home to several prominent figures such as Benjamin Franklin and John Fitch.

Today, Easton is known for its vibrant downtown area which features many shops, restaurants, galleries, and other attractions. The city also hosts several festivals throughout the year including Musikfest, an annual 10-day music festival that attracts over one million visitors each year. Other popular attractions include Crayola Factory, National Canal Museum, State Theatre Center for the Arts, and Lafayette College.

Easton is served by two major highways: Interstate 78 and U.S Route 22. The Lehigh Valley International Airport is located just outside of town and provides easy access to other cities in Pennsylvania as well as New York City and Philadelphia. Public transportation options are available through LANTA bus service which connects Easton to other cities in the Lehigh Valley region.
