Bushkill, Pennsylvania is a small town located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. It is situated in Pike County and is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The town has a population of just over 1,000 people and is known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities.
The town was founded in 1790 by William Bush, who named it after his family’s ancestral home in England. It was originally a farming community but has since become a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The area offers many outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and rafting. There are also several ski resorts nearby for winter sports enthusiasts.
Bushkill is home to several attractions including Bushkill Falls, which features eight waterfalls cascading down a mountain stream. Visitors can take guided tours or explore on their own. Other attractions include the Pocono Snake & Animal Farm, which features exotic animals from around the world; the Bushkill Inn & Conference Center; and the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.
The town also hosts several annual events such as the Bushkill Fall Festival in October and the Bushkill Christmas Festival in December. There are also many restaurants and shops located throughout the town offering local cuisine and unique gifts.
