Aliquippa, Pennsylvania is a small city located in Beaver County, about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. It is situated along the Ohio River and is home to a population of just over 9,000 people.

The city was founded in 1795 by James Hillman and was originally known as "Logstown". The name was changed to Aliquippa in 1892 after Queen Aliquippa, a Native American leader who lived in the area during the 1700s.

Aliquippa has a rich history that includes steel production and manufacturing. During the early 1900s, the city was home to several steel mills and factories that employed thousands of workers. This industry helped shape the city's economy for decades until it began to decline in the late 1970s. Today, Aliquippa is still home to some manufacturing companies but has diversified its economy with other businesses such as healthcare, retail, and hospitality.

The city offers plenty of recreational activities for residents and visitors alike. There are several parks located throughout Aliquippa including Quay Park which features a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and picnic areas. The city also has an outdoor swimming pool at Quay Park as well as an indoor pool at the Aliquippa Community Center. Other attractions include an ice skating rink at Quay Park and a golf course at Beaver Valley Golf Course.

Aliquippa is also home to several churches including St. Titus Catholic Church which dates back to 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city also hosts several annual events such as the Aliquippa Heritage Festival which celebrates local culture with music, food, crafts, and more!
