Owasso, Oklahoma Description
Owasso is a city located in the northeastern part of Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area and has a population of around 33,000 people. The city was founded in 1881 and has grown steadily since then.
Owasso is known for its small-town charm and friendly atmosphere. The downtown area features a variety of shops, restaurants, and other businesses that cater to both locals and visitors alike. There are also several parks located throughout the city, including the popular Rayola Park which features a lake, walking trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
The city is home to several schools including Owasso High School, Owasso Middle School, and Owasso Elementary School. There are also several private schools in the area as well as higher education institutions such as Tulsa Community College and Northeastern State University.
The economy of Owasso is largely based on retail trade, manufacturing, health care services, educational services, finance & insurance services, professional & technical services, construction services, transportation & warehousing services and administrative & support services. Major employers include Walmart Supercenter (the largest employer in the city), St John Medical Center (a major hospital), QuikTrip Corporation (a convenience store chain), BOK Financial Corporation (a financial institution) and many more.
Owasso offers plenty of recreational activities for residents to enjoy such as golfing at Bailey Ranch Golf Club or fishing at Lake Oologah or Keystone Lake. Other attractions include the Tulsa Zoo & Living Museum or Safari Joe's H2O Water Park which offer fun for all ages!
