Youngstown, Ohio is a city located in the Mahoning Valley region of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is situated on the Mahoning River, approximately 65 miles southeast of Cleveland and 61 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The city has a population of around 65,000 people and is the county seat of Mahoning County.

Youngstown is known for its steel industry, which was once a major employer in the area. The city was once home to several large steel mills that employed thousands of workers and produced millions of tons of steel each year. However, due to changes in the industry and competition from foreign markets, most of these mills have closed down or been relocated elsewhere. Despite this, Youngstown still has a strong manufacturing base with companies such as General Motors and Delphi Automotive having plants in the area.

The city also has a vibrant arts scene with several galleries and performance venues located throughout downtown Youngstown. The Youngstown Playhouse is one of the oldest community theaters in the country and hosts regular performances throughout the year. The Butler Institute of American Art is another popular attraction in town and features works from some of America's most famous artists including Norman Rockwell and Andrew Wyeth.

Youngstown also has several parks and recreational areas for visitors to enjoy including Mill Creek Park which features over 2,000 acres of woodlands, meadows, lakes, streams, trails and picnic areas. Other attractions include Lanterman's Mill which is an old grist mill that dates back to 1845 as well as Fellows Riverside Gardens which offers 12 acres of formal gardens with over 1,500 varieties of plants from around the world.
