Maple Heights, Ohio Description
Maple Heights is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Cleveland and is situated on the east side of the city. The population was 23,138 at the 2010 census.
The city was founded in 1915 and was originally known as "Maple Heights Village". It was incorporated as a village in 1921 and became a city in 1960. The city has grown steadily over the years, with its population increasing from just over 5,000 in 1950 to more than 23,000 today.
Maple Heights is home to many parks and recreational facilities, including Maple Grove Park, which features a playground, picnic area, basketball court and walking trails. The city also has several public schools that serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The economy of Maple Heights is largely based on manufacturing and retail businesses. Major employers include Ford Motor Company's Cleveland Engine Plant and Walmart Supercenter. There are also several small businesses located throughout the city that provide goods and services to local residents.
