Lorain, Ohio is a city located in the northeastern part of the state, on the south shore of Lake Erie. It is part of the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area and has a population of approximately 64,000 people. The city was founded in 1807 and has a rich history that includes being an important port for shipping coal and steel during the Industrial Revolution.
