Southold is a town located in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is situated on the North Fork of Long Island and is part of the larger East End region. The town has a population of approximately 21,000 people and covers an area of about 95 square miles.

The town was founded in 1640 by English settlers from New Haven, Connecticut and was one of the first towns established in what would become New York State. Southold has a rich history that includes being home to some of the earliest settlers in America as well as being an important port during the Revolutionary War.
