Ridgewood, New York Description
Ridgewood is a village in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. It is located approximately 20 miles northwest of New York City. The village is bordered by the towns of Paramus and Ho-Ho-Kus to the north, Glen Rock to the east, Midland Park to the south, and Wyckoff to the west. Ridgewood is home to a diverse population of over 25,000 people.
The village has a small-town feel with tree-lined streets and historic homes. There are several parks and recreational areas including Graydon Pool, Veteran's Field, and Memorial Park. The Ridgewood Public Library offers a variety of programs for all ages. The downtown area features an array of restaurants, shops, and boutiques as well as a movie theater.
Ridgewood is served by two public school districts: Ridgewood Public Schools and Northern Valley Regional High School District. There are also several private schools in the area including St. Elizabeth's School and The Moriah School.
Ridgewood is easily accessible by car or public transportation with NJ Transit buses running through town and trains running from nearby stations in Waldwick or Glen Rock into New York City's Penn Station or Hoboken Terminal.
