Middle Village is a neighborhood located in the borough of Queens, New York City. It is situated in the central portion of the borough and is bordered by the neighborhoods of Maspeth, Glendale, Ridgewood, and Elmhurst. The area was originally settled by Dutch farmers in the 17th century and was known as “Metropolitan” until 1854 when it was renamed Middle Village.

The neighborhood has a population of approximately 30,000 people and is home to many different ethnicities including Italian, Irish, German, Polish, and Hispanic. The area is known for its quiet residential streets lined with single-family homes and small apartment buildings. There are also several parks located throughout Middle Village including Juniper Valley Park which features a playground, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a running track.

The commercial district of Middle Village consists mainly of small businesses such as restaurants, bakeries, delis, pharmacies, beauty salons, dry cleaners and other local shops. There are also several churches located throughout the neighborhood including St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church which dates back to 1871.

Middle Village is served by two subway lines (the M train at Metropolitan Avenue/Fresh Pond Road station and the L train at Fresh Pond Road station) as well as several bus routes that connect it to other parts of Queens and Manhattan. The area also has easy access to major highways such as the Long Island Expressway (I-495) and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278).
