Manlius, New York Description
Manlius, NY is a small town located in Onondaga County, New York. It is situated just east of Syracuse and is part of the Syracuse Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town has a population of approximately 7,000 people and covers an area of about 10 square miles.
The town was founded in 1794 by John Manlius, who named it after his father. It was originally a farming community but has since grown to include many businesses and services. The village center is located on Fayette Street and includes several shops, restaurants, banks, and other services. There are also several parks in the area including Manlius Village Park which features a playground, basketball court, tennis courts, and picnic areas.
Manlius is home to several schools including Fayetteville-Manlius High School which serves grades 9-12. There are also several private schools in the area such as St. Ann's Academy and Manlius Pebble Hill School. The town also has two libraries: the Manlius Library and the Fayetteville Free Library.
The town is served by two major highways: Interstate 690 and US Route 20. It is also served by several bus routes operated by Centro Bus Lines which connects Manlius to Syracuse and other nearby towns. The nearest airport is Syracuse Hancock International Airport which is about 15 miles away from Manlius.
