Islip is a town located in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is situated on the south shore of Long Island and is part of the Greater New York City metropolitan area. The town has a population of approximately 335,000 people and covers an area of approximately 95 square miles.

Islip is known for its beautiful beaches, parks, and outdoor activities. The town has several beaches along the Great South Bay including Bay Shore Beach, Cedar Beach, and Islip Beach. There are also numerous parks throughout the town such as Heckscher State Park and Connetquot River State Park Preserve which offer a variety of recreational activities including hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and more.

Islip is served by two major airports: Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) and John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The Long Island Rail Road provides service to Manhattan with stops at both airports as well as other stations throughout the town. Additionally there are several bus routes that run through Islip connecting it to other towns on Long Island as well as New York City.
