Freeport, NY is a village located in Nassau County on the South Shore of Long Island. It is part of the Greater New York City metropolitan area and is situated approximately 25 miles east of Manhattan. The village has a population of approximately 43,000 people and covers an area of 3.6 square miles.
Freeport is known for its beautiful beaches, marinas, and waterfront parks. The Nautical Mile is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a variety of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. Freeport also boasts several historic sites including the Freeport Historical Museum and the Freeport Memorial Library.
The village has a vibrant downtown area with many shops, restaurants, and businesses. Freeport also has its own bus system which connects it to other parts of Nassau County as well as Queens County in New York City.
