Clarkstown is a town located in Rockland County, New York, United States. It is part of the New York City metropolitan area and is located just north of the city of New York. The town has a population of 84,187 and covers an area of 42.2 square miles.

The town was first settled in 1731 and was officially incorporated in 1791. It was named after Abraham Clark, who was one of the original settlers. The town has a rich history and is home to many historic sites including the Jacob Blauvelt House, which dates back to 1750 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
