Fallon, Nevada is a small city located in the western part of the state, about 60 miles east of Reno. It is situated in the Lahontan Valley, which is part of the Great Basin Desert. The city has a population of 8,606 people as of 2019 and covers an area of 7.3 square miles.

The climate in Fallon is semi-arid with hot summers and cold winters. Average temperatures range from highs in the mid-90s during summer months to lows in the mid-20s during winter months. The area receives an average annual precipitation of 6.5 inches, most of which falls between October and April.

The economy in Fallon is largely based on agriculture and military activities at nearby Naval Air Station Fallon. Agriculture includes alfalfa hay, wheat, barley, onions, potatoes, corn and beans. The city also has a number of businesses that provide services to local residents and visitors alike including restaurants, hotels, retail stores and more.

The city has several parks including Oats Park which features a skate park and outdoor amphitheater; Churchill County Park which offers camping sites; and Lahontan State Recreation Area which offers fishing opportunities on Lahontan Reservoir as well as hiking trails along the Carson River. There are also several museums such as Churchill County Museum which showcases local history; Nevada State Railroad Museum; and Churchill County Historical Society Museum which houses artifacts from early settlers to present day residents.

Fallon is home to several annual events such as the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival held each August; Fallon Air Races held each September; and Christmas Tree Lane Parade held each December.
