Middletown is a township located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is situated on the Navesink River, about 25 miles south of Newark and 40 miles from New York City. The town has a population of around 66,000 people and covers an area of approximately 48 square miles.

Middletown is known for its beautiful beaches, parks, and recreational areas. The town has two public beaches: Sandy Hook Beach and Sea Bright Beach. There are also several parks in the area including Poricy Park, which features a nature center with trails and ponds; Thompson Park, which offers a variety of outdoor activities; and Lincroft Park, which features a playground and picnic areas.

The town also has several shopping centers including the Middletown Shopping Center, which features stores such as Target and Kohl's; the Middletown Mall; and the Monmouth Mall. There are also many restaurants in the area ranging from fast food to fine dining.

Middletown is home to several schools including Brookdale Community College, Georgian Court University, Monmouth University, Raritan Valley Community College, and Rutgers University-New Brunswick. The town also has several hospitals including Bayshore Community Hospital, CentraState Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Ocean Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center-Perth Amboy Division, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset Campus and St. Barnabas Medical Center.

Middletown is served by NJ Transit buses as well as trains that run through the nearby towns of Red Bank and Long Branch. The Garden State Parkway runs through Middletown as well as Route 35 which connects it to other towns in Monmouth County such as Freehold Township and Hazlet Township.
