Nebraska State Information

Nebraska is a state located in the Midwestern United States. It is bordered by South Dakota to the north, Iowa to the east, Missouri to the southeast, Kansas to the south, Colorado to the southwest, and Wyoming to the west. Nebraska has a population of 1.9 million people and is the 37th most populous state in the US.

The capital of Nebraska is Lincoln, which is also its largest city. Other major cities include Omaha, Bellevue, Grand Island, Kearney, Fremont, Hastings, North Platte and Norfolk.

Nebraska has a diverse landscape with rolling hills in the east and flat plains in the west. The state is home to several national parks and monuments including Scotts Bluff National Monument and Agate Fossil Beds National Monument. The state also has several lakes and rivers including Lake McConaughy and Platte River.

The climate of Nebraska is generally continental with hot summers and cold winters. Average temperatures range from highs of 90°F (32°C) in July to lows of -10°F (-23°C) in January. Precipitation averages around 25 inches (635 mm) annually with snowfall averaging around 20 inches (508 mm).

Nebraska's economy is largely based on agriculture with corn being its main crop. Other important crops include soybeans, wheat, sorghum, hay and oats. The state also has a strong manufacturing sector with companies such as ConAgra Foods and Union Pacific Railroad having their headquarters in Omaha. Tourism is also an important part of Nebraska's economy with attractions such as Carhenge near Alliance drawing visitors from all over the world.
