Jacksonville, North Carolina is a small city located in Onslow County, North Carolina. It is the county seat of Onslow County and is situated on the New River. Jacksonville is home to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River. The city has a population of around 70,000 people and covers an area of about 40 square miles.

The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. The average temperature in the summer months ranges from 75-90 degrees Fahrenheit while in the winter months it ranges from 45-60 degrees Fahrenheit.
