Hickory, North Carolina is a city located in Catawba County in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is the county seat and largest city in the county. The population of Hickory was estimated to be 40,010 as of 2019.
Hickory is known for its furniture industry, which has been a major part of the economy since the late 19th century. The city is also home to several colleges and universities, including Lenoir-Rhyne University and Catawba Valley Community College.
