Hampstead, North Carolina Description
Hampstead is a small town located in Pender County, North Carolina. It is situated on the banks of the Northeast Cape Fear River and is part of the Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Hampstead was estimated to be 5,845 in 2019.
The town has a rich history that dates back to the early 1700s when it was first settled by English colonists. The town was named after Hampstead, England and was incorporated in 1883.
Hampstead is known for its beautiful beaches, fishing spots, and outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and bird watching. There are several parks located in the area including Topsail Island State Park and Hammocks Beach State Park which offer visitors a chance to explore nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
