Franklinton, North Carolina Description
Franklinton is a small town located in Franklin County, North Carolina. It is situated in the northeastern part of the state, about 40 miles northeast of Raleigh. The population of Franklinton is approximately 2,500 people.
The town was founded in 1786 and named after Benjamin Franklin. It was originally a farming community and has since grown to become a thriving small town with a variety of businesses and services. The downtown area features several historic buildings, including the old courthouse which dates back to 1820.
