Olive Branch, Mississippi is a small city located in DeSoto County, just south of Memphis, Tennessee. It is part of the Memphis metropolitan area and has a population of around 35,000 people. The city was founded in 1836 and was named after the olive branch that was used as a symbol of peace during the Civil War.

The city is known for its beautiful parks and outdoor recreation areas. There are several parks located throughout the city including Olive Branch City Park, which features a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and a lake. Other popular parks include Snowden Grove Park which has baseball fields and an amphitheater for concerts and other events.

The city also has several shopping centers including Olive Branch Towne Center which features stores like Target and Best Buy as well as restaurants like Applebee’s and Chili’s. There are also several smaller shopping centers throughout the city with local businesses such as boutiques and antique stores.

Olive Branch is home to several schools including Olive Branch High School, Olive Branch Middle School, and Olive Branch Elementary School. The city also has two private schools: St. George’s Episcopal School and Desoto Central High School.

The city is served by two major highways: Interstate 55 which runs north-south through the center of town; and Highway 78 which runs east-west along the northern edge of town. The closest airport is Memphis International Airport which is about 20 miles away from Olive Branch.
