Otsego, Minnesota is a small city located in the northern part of the state, about 25 miles northwest of Minneapolis. It is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River and is part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The city has a population of around 8,000 people and covers an area of approximately 5.5 square miles.

The city was founded in 1856 by settlers from New York and was originally known as Otsego Township. It was incorporated as a village in 1872 and became a city in 1974. The city is home to many parks and recreational areas, including Otsego Lake Park, which features a beach, picnic areas, playgrounds, and trails for biking and hiking. There are also many annual events such as the Fourth of July parade or Christmas tree lighting ceremony that bring together residents from all over town to celebrate their community spirit.
