South Lyon, MI is a small city located in Oakland County, Michigan. It is situated about 25 miles northwest of Detroit and is part of the Metro Detroit area. The city has a population of 11,327 as of the 2020 census.

South Lyon was first settled in 1832 by John Harvey and his family. The city was officially incorporated in 1887 and has since grown to become a vibrant community with a strong sense of identity. South Lyon is known for its historic downtown district, which features many unique shops and restaurants. The city also boasts several parks and recreational areas, including the South Lyon Community Park, which offers a variety of activities for residents to enjoy.
