Ortonville, Michigan Description
Ortonville, Michigan is a small village located in Oakland County, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit. It is situated on the banks of the Cass River and has a population of around 2,000 people. The village was founded in 1837 by William Orton and has since become a popular destination for outdoor recreation.
The village is home to several parks and trails, including the Ortonville Recreation Area which offers camping, fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking opportunities. The nearby Bald Mountain State Recreation Area provides more than 10 miles of trails for biking and hiking. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as a ski resort nearby.
