New Baltimore, Michigan Description
New Baltimore is a small city located in Macomb County, Michigan. It is situated along the shores of Lake St. Clair and is part of the Metro Detroit area. The city has a population of about 12,000 people and covers an area of 4.2 square miles.
The city was founded in 1818 by John R. Williams, who named it after his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. New Baltimore has a rich history that includes being the site of a Revolutionary War battle in 1779 and being home to several prominent figures such as former President James Garfield and former Michigan Governor G. Mennen Williams.
Today, New Baltimore is a vibrant community with plenty to offer its residents and visitors alike.
