Howell, Michigan is a small city located in the heart of Livingston County. It is situated about 45 miles northwest of Detroit and is part of the Metro Detroit area. The city has a population of around 9,500 people and covers an area of 8.5 square miles.
The city was founded in 1835 by William Howell and was originally called Livingston Center. It was later renamed Howell in 1837 after its founder. The city has a rich history and was once home to many Native American tribes, including the Potawatomi, Chippewa, Ottawa, and Wyandot.
