Hillsdale, Michigan is a small city located in the south-central part of the state. It is situated in the rolling hills of the Irish Hills region, and is home to about 8,000 people. The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features a variety of shops and restaurants.

The city was founded in 1835 by settlers from New York and Pennsylvania. It was named after its founder, John Hill, who was a prominent local businessman. The city has grown steadily over the years and today it is home to several industries including manufacturing, healthcare, education, and retail.

Hillsdale is home to Hillsdale College, a private liberal arts college that was founded in 1844. The college offers undergraduate degrees in a variety of disciplines including business administration, education, engineering, history, music and more. The college also has an active athletics program with teams competing in NCAA Division II sports such as basketball and football.

The city also boasts several parks and recreational areas including Baw Beese Lake Park which offers swimming beaches and fishing docks as well as hiking trails and picnic areas. There are also several golf courses located nearby for those looking to hit the links.
