Harper Woods, Michigan Description

Harper Woods is a small city located in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. It is situated just east of Detroit and is part of the Metro Detroit area. The city has a population of approximately 14,000 people and covers an area of 3.2 square miles.

The city was founded in 1947 and was named after the Harper family who were some of the first settlers in the area. The city has a diverse population with African Americans making up nearly half of the population.

The city offers many amenities for its residents including parks, schools, libraries, shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. There are also several churches located throughout the city.

Harper Woods is home to several businesses including automotive suppliers, medical offices, and retail stores. The city also has a vibrant arts scene with galleries and performance spaces scattered throughout the community.

The city is served by two school districts: Harper Woods Public Schools and East Detroit Public Schools. Both districts offer excellent educational opportunities for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
