Green Oak Township is a small, rural community located in Livingston County, Michigan. It is situated approximately 25 miles northwest of Detroit and is part of the greater Detroit metropolitan area. The township covers an area of approximately 32 square miles and has a population of just over 10,000 people.
Green Oak Township is known for its rolling hills, lush forests, and picturesque lakes. The township is home to several parks and recreational areas including the Green Oak Village Place Shopping Center, which features a variety of stores and restaurants. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as numerous hiking trails that wind through the woods.
The township has a strong sense of community with many local events taking place throughout the year such as the annual Green Oak Township Festival which features live music, food vendors, carnival rides, and more. The township also hosts an annual car show which draws hundreds of classic cars from all over the state.
Green Oak Township is served by two school districts: Brighton Area Schools and South Lyon Community Schools. Both districts offer excellent educational opportunities for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. In addition to public schools, there are also several private schools in the area including St. Mary's Catholic School and Green Oak Christian Academy.
