Fenton, Michigan Description
Fenton, Michigan is a small city located in Genesee County, about 30 miles northwest of Detroit. It is part of the Flint metropolitan area and has a population of around 4,000 people. The city was founded in 1834 by brothers John and William Fenton, who were looking for a place to build a sawmill.
The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features many 19th-century buildings and homes. There are also several parks and recreational areas in the city, including Silver Lake Park, which offers swimming, fishing, boating, and other activities. The Fenton Historical Museum is also located downtown and showcases the history of the city through artifacts and photographs.
Fenton is home to several businesses and industries, including automotive parts manufacturing companies such as General Motors and Delphi Automotive Systems. The city also has a vibrant arts scene with galleries, theaters, music venues, and festivals throughout the year.
