Burton West, MI is a small town located in Genesee County, Michigan. It is situated just west of the city of Burton and is part of the Flint metropolitan area. The town has a population of around 2,000 people and covers an area of 1.2 square miles.

The town was founded in 1837 and was originally known as West Burton. It was incorporated as a village in 1871 and then as a city in 1895. The town has a rich history that includes being home to the first post office in Genesee County, which opened in 1837.
