Wells, Maine is a small town located in York County, on the southern coast of Maine. It is situated between the towns of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport, and is just a short drive away from the larger city of Portland. The town has a population of approximately 10,000 people and covers an area of about 28 square miles.
The town was first settled in 1641 by English colonists and was originally called Wells after the nearby Wells River. The town was incorporated in 1653 and has since grown to become a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the ocean and its many attractions.
Wells is home to several beaches, including Moody Beach, Drakes Island Beach, Crescent Beach State Park, Wells Beach, and Wells Harbor Beach. These beaches offer visitors plenty of opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, kayaking, and more. There are also several parks located throughout the town that provide visitors with plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and more.
