Parkville, Maryland Description

Parkville is a small town located in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is situated just north of the city of Baltimore and is part of the greater metropolitan area. Parkville has a population of approximately 30,000 people and covers an area of about 4.5 square miles.

The town was founded in 1868 by William Park, who named it after himself. It was originally a farming community but has since grown into a residential suburb with many businesses and services. The town is home to several parks, including Cromwell Valley Park and Gunpowder Falls State Park, which offer plenty of outdoor activities for residents and visitors alike.

The downtown area of Parkville is known for its quaint shops and restaurants, as well as its historic buildings such as the old post office building and the former train station. There are also several churches in the area, including St. John's Episcopal Church which dates back to 1871.

Parkville is served by two public schools: Parkville High School and Parkville Middle School, both part of the Baltimore County Public Schools system. The town also has several private schools such as St. Ursula's Academy and Calvert Hall College High School.

Parkville is conveniently located near major highways such as I-695 and I-83, making it easy to get around the greater Baltimore area or even further out into Maryland or beyond. The town also offers plenty of public transportation options such as buses and light rail lines that connect it to other parts of the city or county.
