Owings Mills, Maryland Description

Owings Mills is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Baltimore and the county seat of Baltimore County. The population was 30,622 at the 2010 census.

Owings Mills is located in the northwest corner of Baltimore County, just south of the city limits of Baltimore. It is bordered by Reisterstown to the north, Glyndon to the east, Randallstown to the south, and Pikesville to the west. The main road through Owings Mills is Owings Mills Boulevard (Maryland Route 140), which runs east-west through the center of town. Other major roads include Painters Mill Road (Maryland Route 91) and Reisterstown Road (Maryland Route 140).

The area has seen significant growth in recent years due to its proximity to major highways such as I-795 and I-695, as well as its close proximity to downtown Baltimore. The area has become a popular destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, and recreation. There are several large shopping centers in Owings Mills including Foundry Row, Owings Mills Mall, and Metro Centre at Owings Mills. There are also several parks in the area including Red Run Park and Meadowood Regional Park.

Owings Mills is home to several educational institutions including Stevenson University and McDaniel College. The area also has a variety of healthcare facilities including Northwest Hospital Center and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
