Yarmouth, Massachusetts Description
Yarmouth, MA is a town located on Cape Cod in the southeastern corner of Massachusetts. It is bordered by the towns of Barnstable to the west and Dennis to the east. The town has a population of approximately 23,000 people and covers an area of about 28 square miles.
Yarmouth is known for its beautiful beaches, including Gray's Beach, Bass Hole Beach, and Seagull Beach. There are also several parks in the area, such as Yarmouth Town Park and Veterans Memorial Park. The town also has a variety of shops and restaurants along Main Street and Route 28.
The town is home to several historical sites, including the John F Kennedy Hyannis Museum, which celebrates the life of President Kennedy who spent much time in Yarmouth during his presidency. The Edward Gorey House is another popular attraction that celebrates the life and work of author Edward Gorey who lived in Yarmouth for many years.
Yarmouth is also home to several annual events such as the Yarmouth Clam Festival which takes place every July and features live music, carnival rides, food vendors, and more. The Yarmouth Seaside Festival takes place every August with live music performances from local bands as well as food vendors and activities for children.
