Plymouth is a town located in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the largest municipality in the county and the second-largest town in Massachusetts by population. Plymouth is located approximately 40 miles south of Boston and is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area.

The town was founded by English settlers in 1620 and is known as "America's Hometown" due to its historical significance as the site of the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England. Plymouth is home to several historic sites, including Plymouth Rock, where the Pilgrims first stepped ashore, and Plimoth Plantation, a living history museum that recreates life in 17th century Plymouth Colony.

Plymouth has a population of approximately 58,000 people and covers an area of 58 square miles. The town has a variety of attractions for visitors to enjoy, including beaches, parks, museums, galleries, restaurants and shops. There are also several annual events held in Plymouth such as the Fourth of July Parade and Festival and the Mayflower Festival.

Plymouth has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. The average temperature ranges from 28°F (-2°C) in January to 73°F (23°C) in July. The town receives an average annual precipitation of 45 inches (114 cm).
