Bourne, MA is a small town located in the southeastern corner of Massachusetts. It is situated on the Cape Cod Canal and is bordered by the towns of Falmouth, Sandwich, Wareham, and Plymouth. The town has a population of approximately 19,000 people and covers an area of about 28 square miles.
The town was first settled in 1640 and was originally part of Sandwich before becoming its own town in 1884. Bourne is home to several historic sites including Aptucxet Trading Post, which was built in 1627 and is the oldest trading post in the United States. The town also has several beaches along its coastline including Monument Beach, Gray Gables Beach, and Sagamore Beach.
Bourne is known for its scenic beauty with many parks and trails throughout the area. There are also several marinas located along the canal where visitors can rent boats or take fishing charters out into Buzzards Bay.
