Barnstable, MA is a town located on Cape Cod in the state of Massachusetts. It is the largest town on the cape and is known for its beautiful beaches, quaint villages, and historic sites. The town was founded in 1639 and has a rich history that dates back to the early days of colonial America.
The town of Barnstable is divided into seven villages: Barnstable Village, Centerville, Cotuit, Hyannis, Marstons Mills, Osterville and West Barnstable. Each village has its own unique character and charm. The downtown area of Barnstable Village is home to many shops, restaurants and galleries. Centerville is known for its antique stores and art galleries while Cotuit offers a variety of outdoor activities such as kayaking and fishing. Hyannis is the commercial center of the cape with many restaurants, shops and attractions including the John F Kennedy Museum.
