Mandeville, Louisiana is a small city located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish. It is situated about 25 miles north of New Orleans and is part of the New Orleans metropolitan area. The city has a population of approximately 12,000 people and covers an area of 8.2 square miles.

The city was founded in 1834 by Bernard Xavier de Marigny de Mandeville, a wealthy landowner from New Orleans who wanted to create a summer retreat for his family and friends. The city was named after him and has since become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

The city is known for its picturesque views of Lake Pontchartrain, its historic downtown district, and its many parks and trails that offer plenty of outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, biking, hiking, bird watching, and more. There are also several festivals held throughout the year that celebrate the culture and history of Mandeville.

The economy in Mandeville is largely based on tourism with many restaurants, shops, galleries, hotels, and other businesses catering to visitors from around the world.
